[iPhone] [RS] TrueHDR (HDR Photographing) (3GS)

TrueHDR 1.0.1

Pictional has launched a new High Dynamic Range (HDR) utility for the iPhone, TrueHDR 1.0.1. The app creates HDR images by blending two similar images, captured at different exposures, for an increased tonal range. iPhone 3GS users can take two images within the app, while all iPhone users can select saved images to blend.
Once users have captured two exposures of the same scene, one exposed for the dark element and the other exposed for the lighter elements, TrueHDR aligns, merges and optimizes the exposures to create one image with detail across the full tonal range. The app will align details to the best of its ability, allowing a user to shoot the two images handheld, where many HDR programs require exact duplicates of the scene shot with a tripod.

The app is currently limited to 960x960 output, geared toward Facebook, Flickr and bloggers. Pictional promises higher output resolutions in future updates to the app.

TrueHDR requires iPhone OS 3.1 and an iPhone 3GS for capturing new images, otherwise it will work on saved images in any iPhone or iPod touch.
